Getting to know our family roots in "Paku"

Hidden in the midst of a beautiful forest, stands a little house. There used to live a strong brave mother with 9 little children. No electricity, no in-house water.

These are the roots of my kids, because she is their great grandmother. And this is the house where their grandfather spent his childhood.

I feel special connection to my ancestors. I can feel their energy running through my veins. That is why I like talking about them, I like to watch their photos and I like to find little pieces of them inside of me. I also believe, that we should know their stories, their struggles, their precious moments to cherish ours.

That is why my birthday wish was to visit a hidden house in the forrest, where my kids grandfather grew up. I wanted them to see how his life was different from their and why they should be grateful for all the commodities they have. And they couldn't believe, that there was no in house plumbing and no electricity. They wondered how iti is possible that they all slept in one room, stacked around the fireplace. They wondered where the tv was, where they kept all the clothes, and where they took a bath.

We felt a special bond that day. A connection between the past and the present and I'm sure, that they felt gratitude towards their great grandmother, who's brave heart and courage is also running through their veins.
